Analysis of Complete Appeal
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I say this not as a command,
But as earnestness of others;
Of genuine love that you stand,
For Christian sisters and brothers.
You know the grace of our Lord,
Though He was rich, yet for your sake;
His mercy and grace were outpoured,
The poor in spirit would awake.
I give judgment in this matter,
The benefits of this desire;
Able to climb up the ladder,
Of perception to acquire.
So now finish it by doing,
Your readiness to desire;
And continue by pursuing,
Let His Spirit light your fire.
Readiness is acceptable,
According to what someone bears;
The Lord will make you capable,
Everything that a person shares.
I mean not others to be eased,
In fairness to you be oppressed;
Rather that the Lord would be pleased,
God wants no one to be depressed.
Your abundance at present time,
Should be enough to meet their need;
Enable you to make your climb,
And to spiritually succeed.
Whom that gathers much has nothing,
But who gathers slight will not lack;
Spending foolishly will just bring,
The burden of debt on your back.
