Analysis of High Protection
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
He who dwells in a secret place,
Abides in the shadow of God;
A fortress of mercy and grace,
A refuge to honor and laud.
For my refuge and my fortress,
Is my Lord to whom I will trust;
A solace when having distress,
Stops temptation of any lust.
He delivers me from the snare,
Lights the darkness from pestilence;
Always showing that He does care,
Shielding me from the violence.
He covers me with His feathers,
Under His wing I find refuge;
He rescues me with the tethers,
From the evils of the deluge.
His truth is my shield and armor,
I no longer fear of the night;
Shields from the evil charmer,
Tries to tempt you for his delight.
I will not fear terror at night,
Nor the arrows that fly by day;
Rather by doing what is right,
For the Lord to trust and obey.
Nor pestilence that stalks the dark,
Nor destruction that wastes at noon;
God lights the path where I embark,
Assures me that I am immune.
