Analysis of The Geography of Bliss
Christine Sonali 1988 (Midwest)
Christmas in NYC! Let's hit up the Strand!
Catch an off-Broadway show, it's like $25, not bad!
Nothing's more satisfying than a stroll through Central Park
Don't need a car here, no buses, trains, scooters
Just grab your coffee and walk!
Everyone's someone in the city that never sleeps
Nobody's a nobody, you're here so find your peeps!
There's no slowing down here, unless you want to
But you'd better get moving soon or else you'll get bored and when you're bored in the Big Apple, oh no!
You'll always be a nobody if that's how you identify
But if you trust yourself, there's no telling how high you can fly!

About this poem
I wrote this when I was in church camp. It's about the spirit of New York, aka the real capital of America.
