Analysis of Trust in the LORD
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Do not forget my teaching,
Let your heart keep these commands;
The effects are far-reaching,
As to what the Lord demands.
For the length of all the days,
And of the years of your life;
You can live in peaceful ways,
That shall assist through the strife.
Let not steadfast love forsake,
Put trust in mercy and truth;
Be vigilant and awake,
To someone who sounds uncouth.
Engrave them unto your heart,
And bind them around your neck;
Good success with a new start,
God finds favor in your trek.
Trust the Lord with all your heart,
Lean not on your perception;
Never letting it depart,
He will give you protection.
Acknowledge Him all your ways,
He guides you on the straight path;
Thwarts tempting that someone strays,
That will avoid any wrath.
Fear God and avoid evil,
Within your mind be not wise;
Avoid works of the devil,
And will tempt you with his lies.
The Lord will give better health,
And refreshment to your bones;
He assures successful wealth,
To anyone who atones.
