Analysis of Wildfire

You.
A wildfire.
So dangerous.
So beautiful.
Your colors so vibrant you were caught in my stare.
I watched the silhouette of your flames dancing on my wall.
Afraid to get too close.
So I danced with your shadow.
Singing and laughing until the break of dawn.
It was safe.
I thought.
Mesmerized by you.
Like a moth I was drawn.
I tasted the ashes on your lips, left by your last lover.
Your flames licked the curves of my body.
Slowly engulfing me.
We merged into one.
And we danced.
To songs no one else could hear.
Songs created by the beat of our hearts. By the whispers of angels. By the laughter that flowed from our souls as we laid under the stars.
It was magical.
Dangerous.
We were never meant to stay that way, slowly burning.
The longer I lingered in your embrace,
The more your light began to fade.
And so I tried.
Fanning your flame with my breath. Trying to breathe you back to life.
Panic. Ignoring the pain.
I tried.
Until I realized it was me.
Smothering out your fire.
As your tears were drowning mine.
So I danced away.
Leaving behind the destruction.
Of a wildfire.
Of a love that burned so intense.
Of a dance that left a scar on my heart. A tattoo on my shoulder.
And now my ashes are on your lips.
The curves of my body cold.
I watch you flicker in the distance.
Hoping to see your flame dance again.
To the melody of your own heart.
And I hope you hear what a beautiful song it is.
