Analysis of Misplaced Expectations
I used to feel bad luck was real
In all I did or say.
It often seemed to be that way
No matter what the deal.
Each day I felt that life had delt
Worst-case scenarios,
While walking on my aching toes
As dreams began to melt.
I hesitate; did I create
Self-fulfilling prophesies,
As real as all the winter trees
Which I cannot debate.
In time I might learn how to fight
The fallacy of well-laid plans
When I ease up on life's demands
And keep my faith in sight!
