Analysis of Cries for Help
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I wait patiently for the Lord,
He inclined and heard my cry;
For my faith, I am not ignored,
When He heard my distressing sigh.
He drew me up from destruction,
From the pit of the miry bog;
Away from all the corruption,
Far from the evil demagogue.
He set my feet upon a rock,
That made my steps to feel secure;
Able to listen as I talk,
His comforting to reassure.
He put a new song on my tongue,
A song for praising our God;
Many fear the words that were flung,
Since they did not honor and laud.
They did not put trust in the Lord,
Because of their immoral pride;
Their calls have always been ignored,
Because they have cheated and lied.
God has multiplied wondrous deeds,
Our thoughts that none can compare;
He has catered to our needs,
That He does so graciously share.
I will proclaim and tell of them,
Yet they are more than can be told;
Declaring that He will condemn,
As the final days will unfold.
