Analysis of Could It Last Forever This Time

Edwin Tanguma 1966 (CA)

Could It Last Forever This Time

I will not make you promises
That I am not sure I can keep
And at this point in my life I-
I am not quite sure of anything
Sometimes I think that you love me
Or at least you believe you do
You know how I feel about you
Yet I am still fearful inside
That the old saying may be true
And this is why I fear you so
Because you look so green to me
I feel tempted to step over-
To the other side of the fence
Am I living a fantasy
Or is what I am feeling true
Could it last forever this time
Or would we break each other’s hearts
As we’ve done to all the others

About this poem

From the dark years collection…There is only 1 remaining from the original deck and shuffle…And I’ve found 4 more that may be stragglers from said deck…Then there are a few more that I dare not count…So I guess that I am almost finished facing my darkest fears…Only then will we know the exact meaning of thru and thru.,,I had almost forgotten how nice it feels to stretch my legs and go for a nice relaxing walk…
