Analysis of Prophecy of Zacharias
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Bless the Lord God of Israel,
For He visited and redeemed;
His people on the shining hill,
Punished all those who have blasphemed.
He raised a horn of salvation,
In the house of His servant;
Giving us a new foundation,
Crushing the head of the serpent.
He spoke to the prophets of old,
Which has been since the world started;
We should be saved as He has told,
From the foes that are hard-hearted.
He shows us mercy as promised,
And remembers His covenant;
As written by every palmist,
When the danger looks imminent.
The oath that the Lord swore to grant,
And able to be delivered;
Without fear of serving we plant,
Where we righteously endeavored.
In holiness before Him always,
Righteous the days of our life;
We go for preparing His ways,
As we tolerate all the strife.
He gives knowledge of salvation,
For the forgiveness of their sin;
Tender mercy to a nation,
Having a newness to begin.
The sunrise visits from on high,
Gives light on the shadow of death;
For the Lord is our ally,
The peace that gives us righteous breath.
