Analysis of The Poem Of My Dreams

Robert Joseph Mattingly 1957 (Brookline, Massachusetts)

The poem that left me
I will never forget
When I was all alone
Early in the morning
This poem came to me

Perfect in every way.
I could not ask for more
The dream a man would want
Right in front of my eyes,
But the poem is gone

I will keep on thinking,
Cause I know the poem
Will pop up in my mind,
Sooner or later as
I am writing along .
