Analysis of What Do You Think Becky (Bussokusekika)

Edwin Tanguma 1966 (CA)

What Do You Think Dear Becky   (Bussokusekika)

Its not every day
A joker’s pulled from the deck
And all cards he’s laid
Are pulled and liquidated
Were you distracting to me
What do you think dear Becky

About this poem

Usually death is the only thing that pulls a joker from the deck…And nobody mentions it to the rest at the table…It is usually unspoken…The deck is tossed and a new deck with a new joker takes the helm…Only the joker knows which card he will become in the play dependent upon each individual situation presented…In a way it truly is a bittersweet symphony of sorts…How much depends upon the jokers knowledge of the lay???Insanity does not even come close to describing the gain of a trillion or the loss of a billion in milliseconds…Yes we now have AI…But even AI will never replace a living joker in real time…As far as I know…I am the first and possibly the last known joker to voluntarily withdraw from the field of play…
