Analysis of The Absolution God
The Lord does work righteous justice,
For everyone who is oppressed;
Iniquities are contagious,
Condemnation who are obsessed.
Unto Moses, He made His ways,
Unto Israel of His deeds;
Merciful to one who obeys,
Gracious unto them for their needs.
He has abundant steadfast love,
Being merciful and gracious;
While slow to anger thereof,
His love will remain plenteous.
The Lord will neither always chide,
Nor keep His anger forever;
In His Law those who will abide,
His compassion will not sever.
He deals not with us to a sin,
Nor reward for iniquities;
But confession He will begin,
When being kind to charities.
As high Heaven is from the earth,
And so great is His steadfast love;
Showing their fear displays their worth,
Rewarding blessings from above.
As far as the East is from West,
He removes transgressions from us;
For once after we have confessed,
His compassion remains precious.
As a father shows compassion,
So does the Lord who will show fear;
To discipline in a fashion,
Shows pity to those who revere.
Because He knows of our frame,
And remembers that we are dust;
But knows each one by our name,
And which ones who have put their trust.
