Analysis of Eternal Hope
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
For the sake of God’s elect,
And their knowledge of the truth;
With godliness you select,
Remain humbled through your youth.
In hope of eternal life,
Which God, who never lies;
Although coping with the strife,
Promised to open your eyes.
So before the world began,
In due time manifested;
Preaching His Word unto man,
To others be attested.
For I have been entrusted,
As told by our Savior;
Reject what we have lusted,
And looked upon with favor.
Of a faith and true child,
Gives grace from God the Father;
No longer as defiled,
Peace from Christ our Brother.
