Analysis of The Gardeners
Ronald Bunch 1982 (Grand Rapids)
Oh! I see it,
The mercy,
The disciples,
The fix.
Not to trample on roses,
And to see nice poses.
The woman and men
Dance and save a farmer’s hen.
They work in the yard
And sing like a bard.
They work hard
And eat the farmer’s lard.
They work day and night
And put up no fight.
They are given free food
And it’s from a nice dude.
He pays them to stay off the street,
And gives them a nice treat.
Not a rat or mouse,
But their own house.
When it's finally finished,
They have a place furnished.
No crows or toys,
But the money he employs.
