Analysis of My Husband My Love
Jennifer Zieverink 1982 (Raleigh)
As I stand here gazing at your sleeping form
My heart swells with love that's deep and warm
I marvel at the man you've become
My partner, my soulmate, my only one
In your arms I've found my safe retreat
A haven of love, a place of sweet
Where worries fade and troubles cease
And all that matters is our peace
Your strength and courage, unwavering and true
Have seen me through times of strife and through
You lift me up when I am low
And hold me close, never letting go
Your laughter rings like a sweet melody
And fills our home with joy and glee
Your gentle touch, your loving gaze
Fills my heart with blissful praise
You are the anchor that keeps me steady
In stormy seas, when I'm not ready
To face the trials that life may bring
You are my rock, my everything
In your presence, I find my solace
My love for you, in every promise
To cherish and honor, to hold and to keep
For in your arms is where I long to sleep
My husband, my love, my heart's desire
You set my soul and spirit on fire
With every breath, I'm grateful for you
For the love we share, so pure and true
So here I stand, with love in my eyes
For the man who's made my heart arise
I love you more with each passing day
My husband, my love, in every way.

About this poem
This is a poem about the love I have for my husband. I was married first to a man who was abusive. But now I’m married to a man who loves, cherishes, and helps me. I fall in love with him more and more each passing day and year.
