Analysis of A Second Chance

Tonya Richardson 1968 (Mississippi)

I was lost, abandoned and scared, I felt all alone like no one cared.
My life had no direction, no meaning or purpose, I was exhausted, drained and tired of this circus. I made a decision in the blink of an eye, the only solution I could think of was for me to die. I swallowed the pills as fast as I could, I knew no one would have ever understood. They were almost gone, just had a few more, the next thing I knew he appeared at the door. He grabbed me up and put me in the car, then we were off to the closest ER. I wasn’t going to give up until I succeeded, then I found out that God gave me just what I needed. He gave me someone to love and adore, I didn’t have to worry about being lonely anymore. Finally I had purpose, meaning and direction, without any fear of pain or rejection. Becoming a mother gave me a good reason to try, I felt happy, I felt whole and I no longer wanted to die.
