Analysis of Why is it odd to talk about God?

Why is it odd
To talk about God?
Yet people insist
To sit at their desk
In front of them stands
A statue of a fat man
To look at all day
But that’s not the way

That’s why Jesus came
So man will proclaim
A savior to help them
To  be born again
Begotten Son of God
Got to be me that has to trod
All the way down to hell
To overcome the devil
So that man can be well

God made the choice
All the angels rejoiced
Jesus did not sin
And man is forgiven
No fat man can do that
Sitting is how he got fat

I so want to say
Jesus is the Way
By others I am told
Not to be so bold
To keep God to myself
But He doesn’t sit on a shelf
Hearing about God might help
they talk about everything else
Why is it odd
To talk about God?

About this poem

Communicating, expressing, socially, understanding, rejected, unaccepted. Socially with others, conversing about our life experiences, often times I mention how God helped me or I may speak of what I learned from God. Although I do not force others to believe or agree with me, they are quick to reject what I have said. Whether or not they were offended. I end up walking away because I feel restricted to speak my free will.

Lori A. Powell

I enjoy writing. I’ve written 2 children’s books. “Les Lobster” and “Stars are everywhere” I live in the forest where the river meets the ocean. Sometimes it’s easier for me to write than to talk to others. Ironically, I used to be a switchboard operator. I write because it seems right to write. Plus it keeps my mouth from getting into trouble. more…
