Analysis of I'm Gonna Win

I’m gonna win,
Maybe not today,
But I’m gonna win.

I'd repeat to myself endlessly,
As I ascended that hill,
Every day,
breathing heavily, huffing and puffing,
feeling like my heart might burst,
Like I should halt,
Dismount my bike,
And lay on the sidewalk,
gazing up at the sun.
Why not make myself stand out even more,
On these suburban streets,
Where they all dwell in their towering houses on the hill,
With their partners holding them close,
While I struggle up here alone?
If I perish, no spouse to mourn,
Just me.
Yet, I persevere on my bike,
refusing them the satisfaction.
And the beauty of hills is once you ascend,
You must descend.
So down, down, down I soar,
feeling the wind rush through my hair,
experiencing true freedom,
Endorphins flooding my system,
savoring that euphoria,
As I envision the day I triumph,
With my grand home perched atop that hill,
Where I can gaze down upon them all.
In preparation, I adjust my breathing,
inhaling through my nose,
exhaling through my mouth,
conquering that cursed mouth-breathing habit,
Just another burden in my uphill battle against fate.
And each day I grow stronger until that hill no longer daunts me,
I’m one step closer to victory.
I sense it,
I’m gonna win,
Maybe not today, but I’m gonna win,
I reassure myself,
Every.
Single.
Day,
until it becomes reality.
