Analysis of A LIVE LIVINGROOM NATURE PROGRAMME
A calm man looking through his Livingroom window
Relaxed on sofa, legs on table cushion throw.
Curtains wide open with blinds part open, to view
And being night time, he loved these calm times, he knew.
Viewing his vista viewpoint, an unknown event
Did transpire and transform his calm idle intent
A live wild nature programme no TV could rush
As a russet figure rushed through the rustled brush
And he saw a fox kill a large injured seagull
Then the fox cubs joined in as they consumed the gull.
A fine meal, as all that was left were feathers strewn
By unknown predator, only he knew the end
Whilst others inside, TVs and mobiles viewing
With closed curtains and closed minds could not comprehend.

About this poem
This poem was the inspiration after I saw 3 deer in a field as I looked out of a bus window and when I looked at the people in the bus all were looking at their mobile phones and I groaned. So, when I saw a fox with cubs kill this gull I wrote this poem. We seem to have become detached from external reality and nature and the future is bleak indeed. This sonnet is written not as standard 3 quatrains and finish with a couplet but the reverse of 5 couplets and a quatrain.
