Les empoisonneurs et les empoisonneuses
Tireraient parti de ces champignons verts,
Bruns, roux, noirs et bleus qui poussent de travers
Dans l’affreux fouillis des herbes épineuses.

Ces plantes souvent sont si volumineuses
Qu’on dirait, ma foi ! des parasols ouverts !
Les empoisonneurs et les empoisonneuses
Tireraient parti de ces champignons verts.

— Là, dans ce val aux pentes vertigineuses,
Un poète aigu, maniaque et pervers,
Pourrait composer d’abominables vers
Qu’applaudiraient pour leurs rimes vénéneuses
Les empoisonneurs et les empoisonneuses !
