Analysis of Spill

Often times I don’t even realize a buzz anymore
I blink and my husband is taking my glass and tucking me into bed
Often times I fall a sleep with a cigar in my hand
Red bottom heals on me feet
Satin silky robe on my skin
Often times I pour until there’s none anymore
Until the glass hits the floor
Until I can’t anymore
Often times

Rubi Sotelo

My name is Rubi, I’ve been writing since I was 13 years old. Writing has been a form of therapy for me while going through traumatic experiences. Most of my poems speak of substance abuse, relationship abuse, thoughts of suicide, and self worth. My darkest moments were when my poetry blossomed. I hope that they are enjoyed with anyone who has ever been hurt before and can relate to the somber music in my heart that I pour into your cup. Cheers!
