Analysis of "Ez"

out of the whole alphabet, H A T E are my least favorite words
and i will bet, you don't need a thesaurus, to tell me how you think i'm a fool
for leaving you, we've been through, our ups and downs, and for better or worse
i think you're my gift, and my curse, but i still think you're cuckoo

i'm been down on my luck, when cupid struck me down, like a sitting duck
i'm been on enough blind dates and i think it's time i find the right one
i've been reflecting on my relationships, and whether i still believe in true love
and maybe it's true what they say, find what you need, not what you want

out of the whole alphabet, L O V E are my most favorite words
and i will bet, i don't need a thesaurus, to tell you how i feel
these sentences just don't do justice to what i promised myself on january first
the evolution, of my resolutions, what am i doing? i don't ever want to lose you

i'm in town for two weeks, on business but i guess, i'm looking through the phone books
for twenty minutes straight, when i gave you a call, and you answered me so fantastically
we spoke like old friends on the telephone, you invited me over and said you would cook
dinner for us, it's been such a very long time, and i'm glad the night ended so romantically
