Analysis of "United"

Once a policy of isolationism,
Now we are the world's cataclysm.
I hang my head in shame.
While we maim, blame and continue praying.

It must be god's will,
As he's a sadist receiving thrills.
All the killing, butchery and turning a blind eye.
While the innocent, men, women and children die.

Policing the world with selfish interests,
Congratulations, we're viewed as pests.
Oh, it gets far worse indeed.
Killing our people have become ether's creed.

Usually the innocent,
Collateral damage in the leader's estimate,
Hypocrisy, the war on drugs!
Our pharmacist companies should be viewed as thugs.

Insurance companies extorting the sick,
While the rich get richer, and quick!
A day can pass and billions are made,
A "United" state can be bought in under a decade.

The people live to disagree,
With only the opposite party.
Pretty clever, but you're not fooling,
The ones who keep fighting the ruling!

Leadership is all in a society.
As it's an aristocracy.
Clearly, they're too corrupt to care.
Constituents speaking up? How could they dare?

All is well, It doesn't matter.
The people sit and watch the cat get fatter.
Collapse is imminent and the police,
Will outlive their usefulness and cease.

Martial law is around the corner.
It's already here if you ask a foreigner.
Fascist, disgusting, and an unending list.
These "United" are mere terrorists.

Bullying the word with trade,
Greedy consumerism has to fade.
Fundamentalist's beliefs need to desist.
Libertarians need to meet in the middle on this.

If we are truly "United" then where's our utopia?
Instead, we slave away and rally and rah.
Around our flag, our banner, our nationalism...
Please forgive my delivery full of cynicism.

I'm radical; the regime... will be displeased,
At anything that reaches someone thwarting their opportunity.
To milk the cow, then aside it's hurled.
Next target? Of course the third-world.

"United" we are cowards. Divided we fall.
I can't say that I will miss you all:
Aristocracy, bureaucracy synonymous with lazy,
Who hid the constitution? Maybe...

History will teach us mistakes.
The decadent Aristocrats can't comprehend the stakes.
"Super powers" always fall.
There has not or ever will be on that can withstand it all.

I like to believe that we can.
Though, positivity is in short demand
I will still fight to make the "United" better!
But, this is going to take everyone together!

Of course excluding the aristocracy.
Who'd I just assume watch bleed.
It's said that violence never solves anything.
"United" citizens are passive while the military is laughing.

They're taking the world over one staple at a time.
While enemies congregate and collectively chime.
I can't say I am angry with them.
What happened to turning the other cheek when?...
You decide to trample on the world,
And then act surprised when anger and loathing is unfurled.
Milk the cow until it's dead!
I will still fight for positivity!... Enough has been said.

Jacob "Sufferance" Bowen

I'm a 30-year old who suffers from Schizophrenia. Suffers, being the keyword. I am a tortured soul. I'm plagued with substance dependence and mental illness, which is also known as a dual diagnosis.Poetry was soothing when I was beginning to hit rock bottom. I felt as if I was at the end of my rope. Then, the first poem I posted here, "Auburn Diminishes", ranked first in the daily contest! This lifted my spirits and gave me a new lease on life. Since then, I've written more and will continue to write, study and hone my artistic abilities by including poetry in every aspect of my life.My hobbies include spending time with the girlfriend, video games, and last but not least, music! My favorite genre is punk rock but can appreciate most music (not all songs) and every genre. My girlfriend said I probably obtained my natural ear from hip-hop. I didn't know what a meter was before attempting my first Shakespearean sonnet and still somehow won a contest with "Auburn Diminishes". more…
