Analysis of 2nd Best

He left you without a word to say,
He has put you in a game you're forced to play.
It seems like he wants someone else,
now you're on the bottom shelf.

He's got a girlfriend on the side,
telling you lies cause he's trying to hide.
You say, you might be putting me to the test,
but I'm still 1st and she will always be 2nd best.
