Analysis of Bound to me

J J 1980 (NC)

I cannot think to consider the strength,
of the earth beneath my feet.
I feel as though I wander about carelessly,
 and walk about casually,
as if there is nothing here of value that bears weight.
I must be dreaming for I know my worth in burden.

Individuals pass by me, but not in groups or in pairs,
 but individually by pass me
as though I'm invisible, a naked shell.
How it is my eyes see them, but they don't see mine?
Shouldn't they at least see my eyes as well?

My disguise seems to wear thin,
 a cloak hardly worth wearing.
Will someone, anyone even attempt to understand,
the worrisome details of this man?

I ramble on restless and lonesome.
 I seclude me from myself.
A self-centered division of my character,
in the hope of preserving at least half of myself.
I too, long for the warmth of the sun,
the cool breeze beneath the summer trees.

Won't a single person help?
Why can't a single soul spare me this cold?
Must I rip open my chest?
 Placing my burdens upon display.
What is my worth to such dismay?

With shades of my past left open,
 still darkens the light.
I remain forged upon this throne,
unable to free me from myself.
The light upon which I strive,
shines on the part me, on the other half of myself.

I dilute sorrow,

For I see through the eyes of my shadow.

My friends call me JJ. I’m a word enthusiast. I enjoy the dance between adjectives, nouns and pronouns. I enjoy the rush of verbs, adverbs, and Intransitive verbs. I enjoy the metaphors that link worlds between figures of speech and Truthful dialogue. From disturbing acronyms to predicate adjectives.
