Analysis of I saw him laying face down on the beach

The boy was found at the waters edge he wasn't moving
he didn't move
a billion hearts
a billion tears
One of the sadder things I've seen this year
I was eating salmon and cauliflower, my air conditioner was making a funny noise and I was wondering if this channel I was watching was coming through in hi-def or not
There was a commentator tearing into Steven Harper about not acting quicker on this Syrian refugee crisis, I quickly got on board with the reporter.
I scanned my android the boy was lambasted everywhere, facebook instagram you name it he was there
Why is it I thought that it takes a child on my screen to remind me that there are atrocities beyond comprehension that take place every minute of everyday. I felt tremendous sadness and I wished I could have helped that little guy and the 100 million more just like him
Its like god reminding me that even the most innocent are not immune
Someone changed it to another channel and as I finished off my supper
I felt the sadness lifting sometime in the bottom of the 3rd

(I do not want to take away from this boys death, I wrote this as a commentary about how much some people take for granted in our lives and how it can be easy to hide from the truth when we could have been born a refugee in Syria..)
