Analysis of MY FIRST CAR (Poem #94)
It's my first car and I'm sitting behind the wheel.
My Dad helped me get a really good deal.
Holding the steering wheel I feel so much power.
Oh how long I've waited for this very day and hour.
I'm pumping the pedals but not going anywhere.
Along with my excitement there is some fear.
But I've longed and waited, so I now put in the key,
And it's off into the sunset I go, Whee! Whee!
My heart is pumping, as I'm racing it seems
Straight down the highway chasing my dreams.
Then too soon it's time to put the car away,
And now it's just a memory, this exciting day.
But I know when morning comes around,
My car and I will be off and running around town.
