Analysis of Nothing is as it seems

A subtle darkness collapses into night
Lamenting for dawns basking light
Black mascara tears run down her face
As she hears the screeching of tires interlace
Grimacing at the ropes burning her fragile wrists
She beats the inside of the trunk with her fists
Down the rugged terrain they go
Sirens wailing at this sick-minded foe
Arid smoke chokes the air
Salty sweaty dirt in her hair
Her piteous appeals for her life
Fill her heart full of strife
Desperately kicking about
a tire blows out
A narrow path they fight to share
Lips quivering through her prayer
Brakes screeching to a halt
Bring an end to this assault
Over the cliff they descend
Black clouds rolling in
Death waits for neither foe or friend
Abruptly awakened from the fright
She did not walk toward the light
Something doesn't seem quite right
Was it all a dream
Nothing is as it seems
What could this be
Her heart races suddenly
As she pulls back the blanket from her knees
She realizes now that she survived as an amputee

Butterfly Skyz

Pages upon pages of unwritten word flutter as wings of a hummingbird, in the crevices of my mind, to pen them all when will I find the time? My blog & more poetry: http://welcometomycorneroftheinstitution.blogspot.com/p/poems.html more…
