Analysis of Pain

He stands outside in the pouring rain.
His body trembling with all the pain.
With each drop, it lashes upon his skin.
It's as if the rain is falling just for him.

As the hard rain pounds on his mind.
Suddenly, he sees he is forever blind.
Distant memories does the rain bring back.
Bullets flying, friends dying, it was a sudden attack.

The rain was there then, as it always is now.
He made it through, though he doesn't know how.
Despite the pounding rain now does he smile.
Surrendering to the rain, he finally finds peace awhile.
