Analysis of Smell Of Bygone Days
Alessandro Zanichelli 1977 (Modena)
The last rays of the sun
are filtering through the branches.
I'm lying here in the grass to watch the sky,
painted leaves in autumn colors
surround the space around me.
I breath smell of bygone days
that return back dormant memories,
when we madly ran our bicicles
enjoying every second together
without thinking to a different future,
Unable to bind us; who knows for which reason.
How many ping-pong matches
trying each time to overturn the results,
discussing and becoming angry
and then return more friends than before.
I'm here lying on the grass
trying to draw our images up there in the clouds
to keep alive your presence;
you are and you'll be forever in my life.
Leaves are dancing all around me
painted in colors that smell of November,
I breath air of bygone days
scent of chestnuts and dewy moss.
I close my eyes now,
the sun with a quick kiss yields its place to the moon;
I always think to you dear friends
all those days of shared life
imprinted forever in our hearts.
I breath smell of bygone days,
a lively little fire not far
releases sweet and intoxicating aromas,
our friendship is commemoration.
I got up with my eyes still turned to the sky,
The moon greets me with a shy wink
shining brightly my path
remembering how hard and long will be.
Walking to home
I fully breath smell of bygone days
but still so incredibly close.
the thrill of reliving every moment
Help me to be a better human-being,
and when my son will ask about my past
will know how much love and friendship
are the few things that make sense
in this weird and crazy world.
