Analysis of Sit and Stare

Jasmin Jay 2004 (Riverside California)

I sit on this chair
and I stare
at this black and white screen
reading adventures never to be seen
watching fantasies that will never come true
even though the sky outside is so blue
I won't go outside
instead, I'll hide
forever inside
spending my youthful years
away from all the sickness and tears
it's my last year at school
and I know no one in my class
because all I do is sit in this chair
and stare
