Analysis of Hush
Hush – don’t you listen?
Not the purring of a cat
Not the humming of a bird
Not the bumping of coconuts -
It is more like a drumming.
A tap -tap on the leather
by two unified fingertips -
Or fat drops of water on
The rooftop on a storm -
Or a soldier’s foot stomp.
It is nothing – it is only
Two hearts communicating.
Breath. Circulation. Blood
It is an old medium.
One of the hearts is my own.
