The City Wind
john mckiernan 1953 (Australia)
city echoes,buildings speak,leaves and
papers have found their feet.come to me,run
to me,the wind tells you so,is there a
message for me to know?i've walked these
streets a thousand times and more.you
whisper a name i never heard
before.arthritic
\boughs and trees in pain,a gallant horseman
coated in acid rain. crowded walkways
nameless streets,faceless people that
never speak.my friend the wind has played
it's hand,i stand alone on shifting
sand.tiny pyramids and a message bore,i
need my friend and all it's lore.leaves and
papers dance around my shoes, four words so
clear on a mighty dune."is your name
Armstrong"?i whispered "my name is John".
