The Price of a Rib

John Gilbert Amero 1966 (Philadelphia, PA)

Not a day would pass that he would not lie,
He’d say “Me, Not me.” as time went by.

“I’m the one you should trust” as he holds you tight,
Not a thing you can do, not even fight.

His manipulation approved and all in his head,
This was the price of a rib to keep you in bed
.

A nightmare you’d see played time and again,
His logic and lie and never-ending original sin.

About this poem

This poem was the third poem (attempt) from the poet. The Covid-19 pandemic woke the genetic code of male emotional manipulators and to hone their skills on those in isolation.
