Righteousness Upheld
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
What advantage has the Jew,
To value circumcision?
How can anyone construe,
Benefits to envision.
So much that in every way,
To begin with to entrust;
That is causing Jews to stray,
For satisfying a lust.
What is some were unfaithful?
To nullify faithfulness;
That would make one deceitful,
Forgetting their humbleness.
God forbid their unbelief,
Let Him be true in each one;
For a liar brings on grief,
Unjustified through the Son.
That you may be justified,
Prevail when you have been judged;
No faith in the crucified,
Having your life being smudged.
Unrighteousness serves to show,
The need of a righteous God;
He inflicts His wrath to flow,
Upon those who refuse to laud.
By no means how God could judge,
All the sinners of the world;
For He never holds a grudge,
Fire and brimstone be hurled.
For if the truth about God,
Would turn out to be a lie;
That would make the Lord a fraud,
Then I am condemned to die.
Abound to His glory in truth,
But condemned as a sinner;
As a child since my youth,
Rebirth as a beginner.
Does good come doing evil?
For their damnation is just;
Forever with the devil,
Because of their sinful lust.
