The struggle I never wanted

Do I dare to disagree? Exams are stressful,
I’m sitting here pondering what would happen if they weren't,
But I can't think of a thing.
I sit still frozen in a trance,
I should have prepped well in advance.

Now I’m sitting here, aware that I’m the elephant in the room.
If only I crammed up the book, I would not be scribbling my pen on paper flows,
I scratch and scratch like I'm possessed,
it’s over, though I still protest.

There I realise, my time is near,
My answers were left as blank as me,
Where did all the time go?
It was me, it was me.
If only I crammed up all that knowledge,
I wouldn’t be sitting on the edge.
