Dawn
Murtaza Khorakiwala 1974 (Coimbatore)
As the night air chilled,
the earth by darkness was filled.
The darkness represented peoples sorrow,
who knew not if they would witness the morrow.
The darkness grew with the coming hours,
and hope was dimly shining like stars.
And when man though everything was gone,
Faith was born, and soon it was DAWN.
