Berkeley Pit Phantom

Berkeley Pit Phantom
By Jennifer Blile
This story is told,
on a Morning freezing cold ,
where day and night shine in the sky,
He walks alone towards the sun,
finding any inch of warmth to go on,
he stops at a rock of stone to soak up the heating sun,
frost bitten toes,
he stands gazing at the sun's beautiful sight,
As time stood still, giving up his will,
A sparkle, a sprinkle, a twinkle of light,
distracts his focus,
He finds something amazing he couldn't believe his eyes,
he reaches up to the heavens "thank you Lord, blessings, greatness. You have changed my life."
He reaches down grabs the stone,
the rock where he had felt alone,
a tear falls down his cheek.
Whispers in relief,
"I have found my home. "
About this poem
I have lived in butte mt for 13 years and made up this story of a Phantom who haunts the Berkeley Pit a lost greedy soul who made great discoveries and did great things when he was alive but his greed gets him cruised by 3 witches trying to protect the native lands. This poem is just the beginning of the story when his life begins a reflection of who his is sort of. Hope you like it
