The hell in my head

Jamie Conlu 2004 (Venice Beach)

To the hell in my head,
Stop pulling me down, I need to breathe. I want to be free, I deserve to. It’s too loud down there,
All the voices are consuming me. I’m being swallowed by this madness, enveloped in it. I’m being weighed down by all this suffering.  The only thing that stops these voices is my crying, my loud wails drown out the voices, and my tears extinguish the flames below me. Breathing doesn’t seem possible, and neither does escaping. Escaping from my head is too much of a challenge. I’d rather die at this point. To stop all the chaos, I don’t want you to escape, I want you to die with me, I’ll let you sink with me, all alone, in this hell in my head.
