New Year

Good morning New Year
goodbye old
can't say that I'm not glad to see you go
I'm locking up the past and throwing away the key
Heartache will no longer have a hold on me
I'm laying down my burdens
got no time for regrets
lived long enough in misery
it's time to forgive and forget

This morning I looked in the mirror
and saw a wondrous sight
the image was flawed but beautiful
that image was me!
there were laugh lines and frown lines
each told a different story
each mistake was a lesson learned
I'm walking a new path now
one leading to Salvation and Glory!

I'm learning to listen to God's plan for me
I'm learning to let him lead
I'm throwing up my hands to the Heavens
I've fallen to my knees

Goodbye bad memories
that have held me back for so long
I'm working on a new me
I'm singing a new song

Good morning New Year
welcome to my life
I'm opening up the windows of my heart
that I've kept closed for so long

GOOD MORNING NEW YEAR
