Who Do I Think I am

Who do I think I am
I have a body yes.
That has caused problems!
In the waters of the womb impatient,
to flip down the birth canal and survive.
Determination deafening for a parent.
hammering that there must be
something more.
I have speech,
I love the way a voice carries a poem
vowels exchanged by the throat,
consonants like the wind
that sweeps over the landscape.
A friend told me I always have one
eye out the window
not sure what he meant but
maybe it’s the exit I must have.
This poem is not a confession I could go there
believe me the self-cherishing makes me blush .
I hate waste, especially of a life
like a father’s squander.
I hate plastic.  I REALLY HATE PLASTIC AND WAR.
I know I am just a species
no different from a bee
an ant on the hill with thousands, or a
leaf turning silver in the rain.
One day I will slip through
this dream, I expect an
amazing sensation.
All over the world there is
love in the human face.
when it comes to love
we are all Rock Stars.
