Ample Grace
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I must continue to boast,
Though there is nothing to gain;
Doubtless glory the utmost,
Visions of God to attain.
Revelations of the Lord,
Being called up to Heaven;
If being in one accord,
From salvation as given.
I was caught in paradise,
Only God knows of the place;
His mercy that will suffice,
To shower me with His grace.
Things heard cannot be told,
Which someone may not utter;
For the plan that will unfold,
Would make anyone shutter.
Because I am not perfect,
For myself, I will not boast;
For I will never neglect,
The humbleness that I host.
I will never be a fool,
About not speaking the truth;
In my heart, Jesus will rule,
And never become uncouth.
I will never have conceit,
That Satan would stick a thorn;
Christ will help me to defeat,
Healing where my soul is torn.
I plead to God not to leave,
Since my strength is made perfect;
Sufficient grace I will cleave;
His precepts never reject.
I am content with insults,
Persecutions that are thrown;
For in Christ I have results,
With Him, I am not alone.
