The Bond

THE BOND

She was only thirteen
When she realized how unfair her life had been
Sadly, she had never seen
The love of a father and his caring routine.

He had just turned forty
His childhood had been quiet naughty
Pretty avaricious, he thought he had it all
But actually he needed more.

Things changed when their world's met
This was their utter fate
Coincidentally, these two had a history
And that she was his daughter, was no longer a mystery

Tears in her eyes, a sharp pain in her heart
For the first time ever there was someone to call dad
Ashamed by his lies, never a doubt, she was the joy he had always wanted, but never got.

Time after time we feel contented
Needless to say we get paraded
Loved ones we ignore
Assets we adore
An abyss inside companions are needed by our side.

Day in day out they cherish their last moments
Smiles on his face she paints, yet still he laments
Of time lost, where was she all along?
But that's a story tremendously long!

About this poem

It talks about the relevance of having family and close ones and sometimes money or material things cannot bring happiness if your closed ones aren't there.
