Start Your Engines

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

If you want to keep it moving
First you have to get it started
And sometimes that means sailing
Into seas that are uncharted
Stop looking back at past success
And move on toward your calling
No one has ever won the race
By standing around jawing
We’ll have a lot of time to talk
Once we have reached our goal
But now is not the time for that
We should be winning souls
So, clean up your ignition switch
And get into the race
You want to finish well
So, you’ll see Jesus face to face

And if he shrinks back I will not be pleased with him
