Like a Little Dove

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Sometimes the path I’m riding on seems lonely at the best
It’s not for lack of people but its what’s inside my chest

The heart that’s been made perfect never wants for anything
It always has the joy of life and makes you want to sing

It does not look at circumstance or hide behind a wall
It just remembers Jesus Christ, that he is all in all

I want to have a heart like that; I have not yet come to it
But when I’m drawing my last breath I know He’ll see me through it

The LORD is great and mighty and He cares for those He loves
And someday I will come flying to Him like a little dove
