Faith
Joe Laweance Gallegos 1969 (New Mexico)
I sent the sun to rise just for you today.
I asked birds to sing songs and sent them your way.
I sent a slight breeze to brush lightly through your hair.
These things I do so you remember me and know I am always there.
When you wake.
When you sleep.
When you ache.
When you weep.
But especially when you are in need.
I don't need to see your sorrow to fell your pain.
I don't need to see your tears, for mine are the same.
I don't need you near.
I take that back.
I don't need to hear you cry.
I'd go insane.
I need you with a smile upon your face.
Joy in your heart.
And a memory of me on your mind.
Oh, what a precious find.
