In The Dept

I wish to scan your heart tonight
To see how it beats when I come by
I wish to scan your brain at night
To see what you think of me as I pass

I wish to scan the smartest of humankind
To see what exactly goes on in their mind
I wish to scan the guys in class
To see whose heart is actually made of glass

I wish to scan the dark skin types
To know what makes their skin so black
I wish to scan the morning sun
To know exactly what makes it burn so much

I wish to scan my mother's womb
To see my sister form and grow
I wish to scan my grandpa’s tomb
To see exactly when his soul would go.

About this poem

I wrote this poem because sometimes I wonder what goes on inside people's minds, as I wish I could see who I can trust and who I cannot.
