The leaf

A Leaf flew to my garden.
Unapologetically, it started growing near my chrysanths,
I ignored it, tried to bash it to death,
Sadly it didn't work.
I ignored it again,
But it didn't.

The leaf kept provoking me from inside.
I shouted my heart out.
Still nothing worked.

Now I cannot ignore it.
I have accepted it and now,
I'm the gardener of that leaf.

I'm helping it grow to see
What it returns me back
In apropos of my beautiful chrysanths, they have now grew up to
scorpion grasses.

About this poem

This poem is about changes. 'Leaf' in the poem symbolises changes. Obviously, changes can be positive as well as negative and this poem deals with negative changes. Negative changes bring pain and loss. But to heal that loss and pain, we need to accept the change and believe in the process. The other 2 symbolism used are of chrysanths (chrysanthemum) and scorpion grasses (forget-me-nots) which depicts happiness and memories respectively.
