Bitter Roots
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Lift up your drooping hands,
And strengthen your weak knees;
Make straight paths to commands,
That God blows in the breeze.
A straight path for your feet,
The lame may not put out;
Be healed as an elite,
A saint having no doubt.
Strive for peace with all men,
Holiness in the Lord;
Helping others see then,
You are in one accord.
See that no one will fail,
To obtain grace from God;
Confession to unveil,
To where they have been flawed.
No root of bitterness,
That has made them defiled;
The grace of God does bless,
For being as His child.
Any adulterer,
Or a profane person;
Any fornicator,
Regret what he has done.
To receive a blessing,
He then has to repent;
The atoned tears will bring,
Cause an end to torment.
