The God I Love

You hang a star upon your house and say
It just looks pretty
But you lift up your god of wealth
And show the poor no pity

You do not love your brother
And your sister has no clothes
While you have slaves to do your work
And so, your sin’s exposed

They do not know how to do right
Who hoard up loot and treasure
They seek a way to just get more
Their god is their own pleasure

But Jesus is the God I love
He’s not like any of these
He lived and died and rose again
So that we could be free
